Anton Butler a South African shaper based in Cape Town, started his shaping career in 1985 under the watchful eye of  one of South Africa's best waterman, Jonathan Paarman who  taught Anton the art of shaping. Over  the following  3 years Anton worked  for Jonathan  and was able to draw inspiration and learn from the greats  like  John Whitmore, Anton  says  "I remember shaping my very first longboard and the Oom (John Whitmore) walked into the shaping bay while I was busy and gave me a lot of helpful  tips it was such an honour for me and so cool"

Anton  then established Lazy B surfboards and over the next 10 years  became one of the top shapers in South Africa Cape Town and built Lazy B up to be one of the biggest Labels at the time.  After a good number of successful years , Anton been the adventurer he is, became a semi professional  mountainbiker and raced mountain bikes for 3 years. During that period he still shaped Lazy B boards for dedicated customers. Back in the industry full time again Anton learnt to design boards on the Shape 3D  program teaming up with DVG and Ross Lindsey, he is now a top 3D designer  and designs boards for a lot of the Cape Town shapers. He   has now established the Ferral Label  which is bringing back the traditional board building skills and honoring the past masters, Anton invites you to  discover the old ways of board building
